Getting Started on Thessir

Thessir is a Neverwinter Nights Roleplay server with a homebrew setting and advanced mechanics.

To play on Thessir, you will need to first purchase or already own Neverwinter Nights. Neverwinter Nights is an old game, but it's also one of the most advanced games for customizable Roleplaying. Assuming this does not deter you, feel free to read the guide below. We hope you'll decide to join us!

Getting Started

Follow these 10 easy steps and you'll be well on your way to joining Thessir!

Step 1: After you've installed Neverwinter Nights, Download and install the 1.69 Critical Rebuild. You can skip this step if you've already patched to version 1.69.

Step 2: Download and install the Sinfar haks (instructions included):

You do not need to install the optional haks.

Step 3: Download and install the Thessir Hak supplement:

Point it into your Neverwinter Nights installation. The same folder where your nwnmain.exe is located.

Step 4: Install the SinfarX Plugin:

Step 5: Copy the sinfarx.exe to your desktop as a shortcut. In order to do this, go into your Neverwinter Nights folder, the same folder where your nwnmain.exe is located. Right click sinfarx.exe and go down to "Send To > Desktop (Create Shortcut)".

Step 6: Run the sinfarx.exe shortcut that you've made. You will be greeted with the introduction videos of the game. You can skip these by pressing escape until you get to the Main Menu. It should look like this now:



Step 7: Go to Multiplayer to log into the master server. It will open up a login screen. Input your display name of choice. You can ignore the Password block, as passwords are no longer needed in this game and username verification is done differently and more securely.

Step 8: Direct Connect to the Thessir server. You can do this by going to Join Lan Game. Then, bring up the Direct Connect button. For the Server IP Address, enter in "play.sinfar.net:5123". Click OK.
