Armor AC Empty Armor AC

Previously, each stage of armor (chainmail, banded mail, half plate, full plate, etc.) had a specific AC bonus, and Dex bonus. Some armors gave less than full plate, and so on.

This is no longer the case. Now, all armors are capable of giving you a total of 9 AC between your Dexterity modifier, and the Base AC of the item. Note that lighter armors now allow more investment, which means wearing Cloth is still preferable if you have a Dexterity score that is higher than 8. But you no longer have to wear it to reach your AC potential. In this way, you can wear just about anything and still be viable.
